LIQUID COURAGE
Liquid Courage is a fictional aphrodisiac aperitif made to help calm nerves before a date. The aphrodisiac gives quiet confidence, similar to secretly wearing lingerie, and a way to help nervousness.
The colours selected for the design evoke warmth, positivity and confidence; the typeface for the name was selected as I felt it had similarities to the display of an EKG and the squares used to create the heart shape are in pairs to emulate the ‘thump thump’ of a heartbeat.
The label has a secret dark side hidden on the reverse, with a figure in lingerie that can only be seen once the bottle has been drunk. For the promotional material, I conducted a full photoshoot and combined the images with flirty, cheeky phrases and double meanings.
Conceptual ideas for product extensions and merchandise to support Liquid Courage include the Morning After Shot, a ginger shot that boosts energy, condoms with various phrases on them and lighters to light candles.
